Messages in the Sky

The Vulture has obviously put up several messages. I do not know why the Vulture has done this, but presumably he's putting them up all over the city. Some only tell Spider-Man to meet the Vulture at noon, while some (such as the above message) tell him where to meet. Spider-Man, and everyone else in the city. Good going, Vulture. You two won't be able to move with all the media and police around.

Ah, and while the Vulture may be a good speller, he's not that good at grammar. Unless he's going for a telegraph thing.

Oh, and I pose the question again: what is the Vulture using to write these messages? My hopes to see him flying around in a biplane remain afloat until this is revealed.

The message in the sky is way too long. By the time the Vulture writes "Chrysler Building" the word "Spider-Man" will have dissipated into an indecipherable mass of clouds.

But skywriting is a woefully inefficient medium for communication. A better method would be to create a flyer on a computer and make a thousand copies and then fly around dropping these flyers all over the city. Or, even better, just fly into Maria Lopez' show and announce it there because, after all, she's on 24/7.

Also, I don't think he used an old biplane. It's more like he used the broom from the Wicked Witch of the West.

Tomorrow's strip:

SPIDER-MAN -- MEET VULTURE AT NOON ATOP CHRYSLER BUILDING. WE NEED TO TALK BECAUSE I FEEL THAT YOUR HEART REALLY ISN'T INTO THIS WHOLE SUPERHERO THING. ARE YOU HAVING PROBLEMS AT HOME? IT SEEMS TO ME LIKE YOU MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING ON THE SIDE WITH THAT LOPEZ WOMAN ON TV. SO ANYWAY COME OVER AND WE'LL CHAT ABOUT IT AND MAYBE YOU'LL FIGHT ME AND I'LL HIT YOU ON THE HEAD WITH A BRICK. IF YOU WANT I'LL BRING SOME BEERS AND MAYBE YOU CAN SNAG SOMETHING TO EAT. PS: IF YOU CAN THINK OF ANY MORE LAME PUNS INVOLVING FLIGHT OR BIRDS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I'M RUNNING SHORT.

I kinda envision him flying around writing this stuff with the smoke machine strapped to his ass, actually.

It'd be pretty pathetic if a supervillain whose one and only talent is flying, had to resort to an airplane to get a message to Spider-Man.

But of course, "pathetic" is this strip's specialty.

In the world of Spider-Man, I expect the cops won't understand the message and hence, won't be there to apprehend the criminal whose going to be sitting on top of the Chrysler Building at noon. Seriously, Spider-Man, you really shouldn't even need to show up for this fight.

Tommy C -- In terms of their visible presence in this strip, the NYPD doesn't actually exist. I think there's a total of two cops in town who moonlight as security guards, and they are dumb as posts.

But yeah, in the real world there'd be sharpshooters and police helicopters all around the Chrysler Building at noon, and the Vulture would soon be nothing but a chalk outline on the roof. Stay home and get well, Spidey!

I guess we should just be happy he didn't use text message-speak

Apparently the Vulture's skywriting wings don't include an em-dash key, so naturally he skywrote two en-dashes in a row instead.

Bird has too much time on his hands. And he clearly suffers from an superior/inferiority complex.
