Okay, whatever. I do like Jimmy Godero and the Persuader skipping off down the road in panel three, arm in arm. This had better end in Jimmy Godero slicing Krandis's throat, though. My god.
The newspaper "Spider-Man" must take place in a parallel universe. This stumblebum is constantly being laid-out by completely forgettable yobs like Jimmy Godero and The Persuader. There's no way this is the same Spider-Man who has fought epic battles with the likes of Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Venom.
Of course, those super-villains occasionally show up in the newspaper strip, and they're just as incompetent as Spidey. (Remember Ock's depressing little one-room apartment in LA?) I can only conclude that this strip is sort of a Bizarro-world version of the original Spider-Man. Or a Special Olympics version.

Imagine this Spider-Man taking on Thanos. It would be terrible, and really short.
