The Truth About the Persuader?!

Blah blah blah, recap recap recap, truth about the Persuader... wait, what? The truth about the Persuader? So he isn't just some thug with a shoddy nickname who sacrificed himself for Mary Jane? Against all odds, I'm kind of interested, though I know it will prove to be boring and rather redundant. Still, might be good for something.

Also: They should move that body pretty soon, I think.

I'm thinking that Krandis is the Persuader's father or something. I looks like they have the same nose.

The truth about the Persuader is that his real name is Darryl McGogglington.

"If you knew the truth about the Persuader, you'd giggle!"

Or maybe it's that he's actually the "Persueder," named that because in his free time he wears nothing but suede. Suede shirt, suede shoes, suede baseball cap, suede underwear...

"If you knew the truth about the Persuader, you'd know that he built a Mary Jane mannequin out of a leather product! Tell me that's not creepy!"

Also, I just wanted to say that I've been reading this blog since we discovered that Spider-Man is not, in fact, an elephant, and the Amazing Spider-Blog is fantastic. It's one of the few newspaper strip comic blogs that I read regularly. Thanks for all of the awesomeness.

Gay lover! Gay lover! Oh pleeeeease make the Persuader Krandis' gay lover.

The final panel includes the thing that drives me the most batshit insane about this strip: MJ's unnecessary "what does he mean?" It actually deflates any tension created by what Krandis says, while simultaneously cluttering the panel and making her sound like a complete moron. I know this strip isn't really salvageable in any serious sense, but when I see stuff like this, I just want to find whatever not-actually-Stan-Lee hack is responsible for writing it, grab him by the lapels, and shake vigorously while yelling "you are very very bad at your job! Give it to me!"

The Persuader is:

...a ghost, but doesn't realize it.
...deathly allergic to water.
...unknowingly living in a wildlife preserve.
...a wanna-be supervillain searching for a hero.

What a twist!

(That last one sounds like a personals ad)
