The Persuader: Still Dead

04/02:Spider-Man utilizes his exploitation power in the first panel. He has the proportionate expository ability of a spider! Meanwhile, Mary Jane is in shock that the Persuader killed himself for her. Simon Krandis is, most likely, making a quick escape while Spider-Man stares dumbly at his wife who, in turn, is staring in shock at the Persuader's body.

04/03:Spider-Man artfully ignores the dead body and asks his wife if she's all right. Truth be told, Spider-Man is probably in shock (pun not intended) and doesn't know how to handle this situation. He obviously wants to ignore the Persuader's lifeless body for as long as he can, but can't really comfort Mary Jane since she's all worked up about that same lifeless body. This will take about a week to resolve, I think, all while Mary Jane reiterates that the Persuader gave his life for hers and Spider-Man just sort of stands there. If Simon Krandis hasn't made it to Mexico by then, the man is a lot dumber than previously thought.

On a side note, I'm going to be very surprised if "Cleats" doesn't show up here at some point this week.

Krandis is either heading for the hills, or grabbing a gun or two. Spider-Man once again fails Superhero 101 -- well, Police Academy 101, for that matter -- by failing to secure a crime scene while a crime is still in progress. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Other really stupid thing: casual familiarity between Spidey and MJ in the presence of a villain. You'd think that, by now, they'd have worked out some kind of system. Perhaps referring to each other as Ms. Watson and Mr. Spider-Man (Mr. Man?) whenever they are in public together.

Especially in the presence of a villain at an active crime scene!!! Yeesh.

You know, for how many weeks now, we've been building up to a dramatic showdown between the Persuader and Spiderman. And now, the villain gets taken down by a door...

Wasn't there a time where superheroes actually BATTLED villains with their cool arsenal of super powers, instead of running around aimlessly in mansion corridors and getting blindsided by normal human with random lead pipes and bricks?

I would just about die with glee if, after several more "he died to save ME!" strips, a heavy object proceeded to hit Spider-Man on the head while Krandis fled the scene.

I can just about guarantee you this ends with a, "Krandis got away!" moment. What Spider-Man will fail to include is, "Because I was too busy making small talk to beat him up!"

So Spiderman easily catch Krandis.

I think Spiderman is just a little irked that this guy just died saving his wife. Yes he is glad she is safe, but he is probably worried that MJ will think of him as some hero. Not that Spiderman hasn't had to save MJ a billion trillion times, because he has, but because Persuader did it when he was a bad guy. Maybe.

Stan is The Man and all but does he have to repeat stuff from yesterday's strip? And I see Krandis getting a F+ in villainy.

4/4: Gasp! The Persuader's not dead! No, wait, yes he is. I guess Spider-Man also has the proportional CPR skills of a spider.

The new strip got posted while you were talking. On a side note, would CPR really work on an electrocution victim? What sort of first aid do you give someone who's just been electrocuted?
