Spider-Fugitive

I'm sure he could set a web-foot outside and be safe from the police for a bit. After all, he can web-sling, and I understand that's a pretty fast mode of transportation. No cops will be able to lay a finger on him. When he lands, of course, the police will all over him. Ah, and if they decide to break out the helicopter. Which, to be honest, would probably be more exciting than Peter trying to be a detective.

TIL: Mary Jane, who obviously remembers the last fifteen times this happened.

No, no, MJ, you're thinking of Duck-Man.

Who, come to think of it, would be an improvement at this point.

"Not if I go looking for him as Peter Parker!"
"Why do I have a bad feeling about this?"
"Honey, relax! As Peter Parker, all I do is sit around watching TV or Googling. I don't have to leave the comfort of home to ineffectively look for the fake Spider-Man as Peter Parker!"

Funny thing - with all these villains and imbeciles he has to deal with on a regular basis, this paper crumpling is the most agitated I have seen Peter in recent memory.

The current storyline is further proof that nobody other than Peter and MJ bothers reading the Daily Bugle. As the higly educated and informed reader (the target audience of the bugle, obviously) should know Spider-Man is the greatest evil that ever befell mankind. That TV FINALLY takes notice shouldn't come as a surprise to anybody.
