Irish Peter

I'm guessing the reason is not sinister, but rather having to do with Jameson's Maria Lopez fixation. In which case it could be very sinister, but considering that this strip is pretty tame even for a family newspaper, I doubt we have to worry about seeing anything overly disgusting. Like last time... *shudders*

TIL: The fact that Peter seems to be channeling his inner leprechaun.

I'm quite new to Spider-Man, could somebody explain Robbie and his job for me? I don't think I've ever seen him telling anyone what to do or being told what to do or anything, so I'm unsure of who he is.

Robbie Robertson is the City Editor for the Daily Bugle. That much I know for certain. Depending on everything else, he may also be the Editor-in-Chief if Jameson isn't.

Thanks a lot :)

Sorry, one more question, is it a job requirement at the Bugle to have an alliterative name? Actually, now that I think about it, comic book characters do tend to have those a lot. There's probably been theses written on the subject, I'm just new to comics in general.

Hey, I never noticed that everyone at the Bugle has an alliterative name! J. Jonah Jameson, Robbie Robertson, Peter Parker, Betty Brant...huh.

Frederick Foswell, as well, though he only showed up a few times. Ah, and Glory Grant. There are a few major Daily Bugle employees who don't have them (Ben Urich and Ned Leeds) though I doubt we'll ever be seeing them in this strip.

If we get a storyline where Peter Parker has to set Jameson and Maria Lopez up, I'll be pretty happy, because I'm sure wacky hijinks will ensue and it HAS to be more interesting than the last storyline. It just has to. Don't crush my spirit, Stan Lee's ghostwriter!

Mat,

Almost all of the comic characters with alliterative names (not counting the L.L.s in the Superman mythology) were Stan Lee creations, including the entire Bugle staff. The story is that Stan did that so he could remember them easier.

Thanks, Azor.

I think Lindsey's idea's good. This strip would be much better as a sitcom instead of trying to be an action strip.
