And so it would seem Spider-Man just turned around and did not punch the Vulture in the face, but back-handed him. Back-handed him because, if he had punched him, the force would have splattered him upon a wall.
I am at a loss for words, because that is pretty magnificent.
TIL: Today's whole strip was pretty spiffy.

And then apparently just swung away, letting the Vulture go. Huh?
Well, right now, the Vulture is grounded and surrounded by people, and he just got knocked silly by Spider-Man. Presumably, Spider-Man might think the Vulture will keep until some cops come, or until he gets back with Jameson.
It's a pretty lame plot twist that gets resolved in a single day. Vulture gets the drop on Spidey... gives him the ol' double-ax-handle... and then stands there hovering over a fallen foe known for his ability to recuperate quickly.
I can tell Spidey is going to win this battle because the only person dumber than him, is his opponent.
That Spidey bitch-slap is the best thing to come out of this strip in months.
This strip is totally full of awesomeriffic awesometude! I thought the best part would be Spidey he-bitch man-pimp-slapping the Vulture, but then he talked smack as he swung off. Seriously, they could just rerun that strip for the next month and I'd be cool with that.
Looks like Spidey's been playing too much "Rose and Cemellia, the art of feminine conflict."

So...is JJJ still clinging to the top of that skyscraper?
What could possibly be more humiliating that being a self-proclaimed "super-villain," and getting bitch-slapped by your adversary? But to make it even worse for the Vulture, Spider-Man thinks so little of him, he just flies away, and leaves the recently slapped on the ground!
Taken out of context, today's strip is the best Spider-Man strip EVER!
I think Spider-Man was off to get Jonah at the end of today's strip.
I've played that slapping game, sds! :)
Anyone who hasn't and is feeling adventurous, give it a try.
Today's strip is full of win.
Sure, he's probably going to get Jonah, but...
A) Taken out of context, as a standalone day, Spider-Man appears to be showing The Vulture absoluately zero respect. That's gotta be humiliating for TV.
B) Taken in context of the day, shouldn't Spidey maybe... I don't know... Apprehend the villain first? JJJ is fine where he is, but a bitch-slap isn't going to keep TV down for long! Besides, they've already built the case that the police are completely inept, so really, Spidey is the ONLY ONE EVER who can handle The Vulture!
Spidey slapped the Vulture. He slapped that fool. Nice.
Now THAT's fierce.
You know, I think "The Slapper" would be a great name for a superhero. Mild-mannered reporter by day, but by night, she hits the nightclubs and gets plastered ... um, and fails to solve crime ...
OK, I've had better ideas.
Spider-Man said "Talk to the hand!" lol!
