Technically, he was only thinking of going out as Spider-Man, so no promise was broken. I think. He may have promised not to even think of going out as Spider-Man, but it's two in the morning and I'm too tired to check.
I have to admire how Stan Lee is so artfully juggling two lame, dull, annoying, abysmal storylines. It's like a master craftsman creating the most boring tapestry in the world.
Mary Jane is going to get sick, Pete's going to go out to get her something, and then he's going to tackle the Vulture.
